Simon Tay is a professor of international law. As the Chairman of the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA), he is also an activist on environmental issues and a strong advocator for action against haze.

As part of a fact-finding mission, Simon and his colleagues from SIIAA and the National University of Singapore travelled to Riau province to get a first-hand look on how local communities and private companies cope with the fire issue.
